Binance Delists Five Tokens in March: What Investors Need to Know

Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced it will delist five tokens from its trading platform starting March 28, 2025. The affected tokens are Aergo (AERGO), AirSwap (AST), BurgerCities (BURGER), COMBO (COMBO), and Linear Finance (LINA).

Delisting means these tokens will no longer be available for trading (buying or selling) on Binance. After 00:00 UTC on March 28, users will be unable to trade these assets on the platform. Additionally, deposits made after March 29 will not be credited, although withdrawals will be supported until May 27, 2025.

Reasons Behind the Token Delistings

Binance regularly assesses assets listed on its platform to ensure they meet high standards of safety and quality. Factors considered include the commitment of the project team, quality and frequency of development activities, trading volume (the amount traded daily) and liquidity (ease of quickly buying or selling assets), network security against cyber-attacks, transparency, community communication, and compliance with regulatory changes.

While Binance did not specify exactly which factor led to the removal of these particular tokens, it is clear that critical criteria were unmet, resulting in their delisting.

Practical Implications for Investors

Investors holding any of these tokens should pay close attention to the following guidelines:

  • Trading: All open orders involving these tokens will be automatically canceled after trading stops.
  • Deposits: Deposits made after March 29, 2025, will not be credited.
  • Withdrawals: Investors will be able to withdraw these tokens from Binance until May 27, 2025.
  • Automatic Conversion: Tokens left on the exchange may potentially be converted into stablecoins (cryptocurrencies pegged to traditional currencies like the US dollar). However, this conversion is not guaranteed and will be communicated in advance by Binance if it occurs.

What Investors Should Do Now

Experts recommend investors promptly review their holdings and make necessary adjustments before the specified dates to prevent losses or inconvenience. They also emphasize the importance of carefully evaluating each investment, especially given the volatile nature (rapid and unpredictable price changes) of the cryptocurrency market.
