Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Changpeng Zhao, founder of Binance.
The agreement aims to advance the country’s cryptocurrency and blockchain ecosystem.
Under the deal, both parties will collaborate on developing infrastructure, providing technical expertise, and offering consulting services related to blockchain and virtual assets.
The partnership also includes educational programs to train experts in blockchain, virtual asset management, and cybersecurity.
CZ, who has advised several governments on crypto regulations and blockchain adoption, called such initiatives crucial for enhancing government efficiency and innovation.
“I advise multiple governments on crypto regulatory frameworks and blockchain solutions for government efficiency. I find this work meaningful,” CZ tweeted.

The country’s Parliament has approved a draft law that sets the legal framework for the digital som, its upcoming central bank digital currency. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan plans to begin prototype testing in early 2025, with a final decision on full implementation expected by late 2026.
