{"id":4925,"date":"2025-03-12T11:00:00","date_gmt":"2025-03-12T13:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/criptonizando.com\/en\/?p=4925"},"modified":"2025-03-12T09:49:18","modified_gmt":"2025-03-12T11:49:18","slug":"sec-delays-decision-on-popular-cryptocurrency-etfs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/criptonizando.com\/en\/news\/sec-delays-decision-on-popular-cryptocurrency-etfs\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC Delays Decision on Popular Cryptocurrency ETFs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has extended its review period for several cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs), affecting proposals for XRP, Solana, Litecoin, and Dogecoin investment products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In regulatory <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules-regulations\/self-regulatory-organization-rulemaking\/national-securities-exchanges?sro_organization=192731&amp;field_display_title_value=&amp;release_number=&amp;file_number=&amp;year=All&amp;month=All&amp;page=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">filings<\/a> released on March 11, the SEC announced it needs additional time to evaluate proposed rule changes that would allow these cryptocurrency ETFs to begin trading on public exchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>SEC Extends Timeline for Major Crypto Assets<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bloomberg reported that grayscale\u2019s XRP fund and most recently, the Cboe BZX Exchange\u2019s spot Solana ETF milestones are due for completion in May. As of late all of these projects have faced increased risk of being postponed due to the SEC\u2019s VDR &#8211; they seem to follow a pattern of detailing their scope of review under these conditions, however, they have adopted a rather slow pace in comparison to other jurisdictions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ETF analyst James Seyffart suggested otherwise on social media, stating that these far-reaching predictions over the delays stem from Estimates represent \u201cStandard Patrician,\u201d which means they are not likely to be confirmed within the next month). These radical shifts come in the wake of Trump\u2019s earlier victory, followed by his recent inauguration, subsequent resignation of Gensler all signal a blatant shift in enforcement on US crypto assets.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the goals that were set against the more intensive methodology of SEC enforcement are now considered to be legacy goals. Exchanges Gemini and Cumberland DRW are some of the more widely known and are now freely pursuing their businesses.
